Elena Sportelli

Bocuse d’Or 2005: Elena made the audience smile when she skipped onto the stage like a happy spring lamb after her victory as best commis chef was announced. Her passionate efficiency alongside chef Andrea Galli had made a huge impression.

Since then, she has made her way in the world of cuisine, presiding in various establishments, among others at the Gucci cafeteria in Milan where she helped to serve a thousand meals a day…

Today, she lives and works in the pretty town of Pavia, in the gastronomy department of a major caterer in the region. She loves it there.

She and her boyfriend Luigi dream of going to work on the coast in a few years…

Her advice for commis chefs at the Bocuse d’Or: “Do it with passion! It gives you strength. There’s no other emotion like it. Taking part in the Bocuse d’Or was an absolute dream. I never imagined… It was a great surprise. Bello bello!! It was really a beautiful thing!”
